Carry weight

You start able to carry 300. Megingjord worn makes it 450 for good; Moder's Forsaken power and Mead of Troll Endurance on top bring it to 1,000 while they last, and the corpse run after looting your tombstone adds 150 more for 50 s: 1,150 at most. Every source is a different status effect, so they all add up.

What being encumbered does

“You are encumbered and cannot run.”

Over the limit (more than, not equal to) the code turns off:

running (Character.CheckRun) and jumping (Character.Jump);
blocking (Humanoid.IsBlocking);
your normal pace: you move at crouch speed (Character speed);
stamina regeneration (Player.UpdateStats), while moving costs 5 stamina a second.

Formula

Limit = (300 + the carry weight of every status effect you have) × the world's CarryWeightRate key (1 unless a server sets it).

Encumbered = everything in your inventory, worn gear included, weighs more than the limit.

Assumptions

The ore table counts weight only: inventory slots and stack sizes are not counted.
The corpse run (150) comes only after a death, when you loot your tombstone; "Everything" leaves it out.
