How the list is made
Every line is worked out from the game files of 1.0.17, stage by stage:
- Armor: the set the biome's own materials make, with the most armor at its max level (all sets side by side on gear progression).
- Weapons: the melee and ranged weapon you can have by then that kills the biome's hostile creatures in the fewest hits at skill 50, resistances applied (best weapons by biome).
- Food: the three foods with the most health together that you can make by then (best food by biome).
- Meads: the strongest healing mead by then, and a resistance mead for an element the boss deals, that a third or more of the biome's hostile creatures deal, or (frost) when the biome's weather freezes — frost resistance keeps Cold and Freezing off you (Player.UpdateEnvStatusEffects).
- Metal: where the biome's ore is first had and the weakest pickaxe that breaks it (metals in order).
- Station levels: what this stage's own gear needs to be made and upgraded to its max — the recipe's level plus one per quality level above 1 (Recipe.GetRequiredStationLevel), never above the station's top level (one level per extension).
- Boss: the locations whose Vegvisir points at its altar, the offering, the trophy's Forsaken power and what its drop makes or opens (progression guide).
